I'm Late
I have had spotting off and on for about a week but not a full out period. It's about a week late now. I'm pretty sure I am not pregnant. I've recently started watching what I eat and have started exercising regularly. Has anyone noticed changes in your cycle at the beginning of an exercise program?
No, and not sure what your TTC situation is, but I spotted off and on the whole week that I "should have" started, but was really pregnant and didn't know it! I had ovulation issues (didn't ovulate on my own) so I just thought it was another "weird" period. Could that be for you??
Oh Gosh I hope not. DH has been having depression issues for some time and says another child would send him in to shock therapy! Last week was the week I "should have" started. I am usually VERY heavy. This just spotting is very strange for me.
Yes, my exercise routines have been known to alter my cycle. Good luck...I hope it all works out for you!!
Ditto Melanie. If I am not eating very much and exercising alot more than usual I will have a very light cycle.
I am one day late. I am on day 28 today, which would be the day that most people would start, but I am usually every 26-27 days. I have never made it to 28 days, unless I was on the pill. I have been working out too.
Oh good. Hopefully that is all it is then.
Take a PG test ASAP.
Yes, when I start a new exericse/eating program, I see a diffence in my period. In fact, when I go off my program(like over Christmas) I experience heavier periods. Good luck to you. I hope that is all it is. Like Crystal said, why not take a pg test to find out.
Sorry to freak you out Paulas...I thought maybe you were TTC!! I would take a test for sure. I kept telling my DH no way I'm pregnant, and we both dropped our teeth when my test was positive!! So sending your way whatever baby/no baby vibes you're wishing for....
With an increase or decrease in meat a period can change quite a bit, also with exercise. Especially with strenuous exercise. Groove
I agree it would be wise to take an EPT, because pregnancy *could* be a possibility. {{{HUGS}}} That said, I agree a menstrual cycle can be effected by exercise, but it can also change with age. Perimenopause can start as early as 35. My cycle is much different than it was when I was younger.
I also started doing this same thing about a year ago. Mine went on for several months and I found out the painful way that I had ovarian cysts. I went on the pill for 6 months and so far so good. I am a little worried this month because I spotted a day or two before starting. I am hoping that they are not coming back. So it could be other things besides just pregancy. I also lost a lot of weight in 2003 and was exercising a lot. I always wondered if that was what messed me up.
So many things will affect your cycle - including everything mentioned above, and things like endometriosis, etc. I forget your age, Paula. As Trina mentioned, perimenopause can start in the mid 30's. Is it possible that's what's happening with you?
Well, my period started today...much to the relief of my husband. I did spot several times last week so it's something I have written down and will keep an eye on. I am 36 years old.
Well, it's day 2 of being late for me, so we will see. I had a little spotting this morning, so I think I will start soon, maybe.
Paulas, definitely ask your doc about endometreosis. With heavy periods, and now breakthrough spotting, it might be worth looking into. My mom has it BAD, and didn't start having problems until her eary 30s.
Paula, we all know where babies come from. If you don't want another pregnancy right now, are you using BC?
I got the impression that she is, but you know how we all panic when we are late, even if it is almost impossible for us to be pregnant. I am "fixed" and have endometriosis, but when I was a week late, I about died!
Adena, I was *spayed* and still had endometriosis also. Had to go through *reverse hormone* therapy to totally get rid of it. Paula, if I were you, I'd make a visit to my GYN. You are at an age where perimenopause can become a factor, or you *could* have something going on like endometriosis. Better to find out what's going on, including a pregnancy scare. {{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}
