Badminton
Emily recently did badminton in gym and while she seemed to enjoy it, kept complaining that she "sucks" at it. So, I thought, maybe we should buy one and then we can all play and the kids would get some practice. Of course, it's January and none of the stores have any, at this point. We haven't checked the one sporting goods store, though. We did check their website and they have a combination badminton/volleyball set. I think this would be fun and wouldn't be that hard to set up. Anyone else have one and do you use it? Badminton/Volleyball Set
We had one when I was younger & loved it. We also play it at family get togethers in the summer.
We have one up every summer and we love it. It's something that all of us love! Especially with your girl's being older, I think they would have a great time with it.
Oh cool! We used to have one when I was in jr high/highschool. It was a lot of fun to play at family bbq's. Fun with friends too!
You'll love it! We have one and use it in the summer just the two of us and at family cookouts. It's great exercise and fun for everyone!
We bought a combo at target that had badmitton/volly ball stuff. Downfall was my dog ate the ties, UGH. We loved it though. Summer stuff is out here, you can buy swimsuits in January, but not in august...crazy world we live in! Anyway, you might want to peek into wally's or target and see.
We've already looked at Target and Walmart, but neither place had one yet. I bet they aren't too far away. We'll get to Dunhams, tomorrow, or over the weekend. It's payday tomorrow! Jasmine isn't one to eat non-food items, so the ties should be safe.
I did a session of badminton in high school PE and loved it. I think it would be a lot of fun. I'd love to pick up a set if our yard was big enough for it.
Tell her don't feel bad about "sucking" at badminton...I was the #1 tennis player at my high school and I was the absolute worst player of badminton in my gym class. It was pitiful how something can go so slow and yet you can just plain miss the whole darn thing.
They both like playing it in gym, though. Emily was frustrated a while back, because she was in a team that wasn't letting her serve, because she was bad at it. The last time she did badminton, she was in a better group of kids, who were letting her try and encouraging her and she said she got it over the net more often. OH yeah, I remember not being the best athlete, too, when I was in school. DH was the same way! So, I can relate! I was one of those people no one wanted on their team. Really, if I'd had a choice, I wouldn't have been on the team, either! I only needed 6 semesters of gym in high school and that's ALL I took!
