My DH's excuse made me laugh!
I woke up this morning and realized our house was a complete *wreck*! So, I asked him to watch Connor downstairs as I clean upstairs. So, he gets Connor his breakfast and proceeds to empty the dishwasher. (I was completely thankful that he even did this. He was *so* proud. LOL!) Then, when I came downstairs, he told me about emptying the dishwasher but then proceeded to tell me that he "Thought about picking up the toy room but he thought that it would end up that way again by the end of the day, so he didn't." Ha ha ha ha...I about died. Can you imagine if we used that excuse? "Um, yeah, I decided not to do laundry and clean the bathroom because they were going to be dirty anyway by the end of the week." I laughed so hard...but, I did thank him profusely for helping with dishes...I'll take what I can get!! LOL! Does your DH or child(ren) come up with these funny excuses?
This made me really laugh, and it's often how I feel Oldest dd is a wonderful cleaner (better than me and a great help - she's 13), middle dd (age 10)is getting better, youngest dd (age 5) what's clean (the meaning)? Dh leaves for work at 6:45 a.m. doesn't get home until 5:30-6 (he has almost an hour commute) so not much cleaning out of him.
That's a man's logic for you
My husband says that all the time! To be honest, sometimes I feel the same way.
I probably shouldn't admit this, but this is my logic about many things! After getting sick when my ds was barely over a year old, I learned that some things could be overlooked. Toys that my dks played with constantly, for instance, I just left out in a basket in the living room. When you aren't able to bend and pick things up without passing out, you learn to look over a lot of things! LOL! But my husband does have some excuses and logic that totally drives me insane! It's a man thing, I think!
My dh hasn't actually verbalized this but I *know* this is his justification for SO many things. It drives me NUTS!
So typical! LOL
I feel that way about cleaning sometimes. I do pick up, but so soon, whatever it is, is a mess again! Of course, the clothes need to be washed and the bathroom still needs to be cleaned, but it seems like you are never really done with cleaning!
This is from a gal the NEVER does the dishes, so to me it's expected the dishes get done!LOL He also is very good at tidying, I'd be the one saying hey, leave the toys for a few days!
My dd tried that one on me the other day. We were eating dinner, and she got up and went to the bathroom. I could hear that she did not wash her hands afterwards. When she came back to the table she said "i didn't wash my hands because i'm not done eating yet. I will wash them when i am done eating." She figured that her hands were going to get food on them anyways. LOL UH NO. That's not how it works honey! LOL!
Well....uh...that's my excuse for not dusting. It's just gonna get dusty again anyway.
*grin* it's my excuse for not folding socks! I'll just have to fold them all again later on when they've been worn and washed....therefore they all live in a basket!
