Mailing baked goods
My grandmother is in her 80s. For Christmas she wanted some slippers so we got them for her but I couldn't think of anything else. She loves to read but her sight is going and she can't do that. She has no interest in audio books. So, I was thinking of doing some baking and mailing it to her but I'm not sure how well that would go over. I live on the opposite side of the country so it would take several days for it to get there. Express post would be about 3-4 days I would think. So, what do you think? Is this possible?
Yep, I have mailed lots of baked goods. Just make sure they are room temp (not fresh from the oven). Seal them in a zippy and pack with bubble wrap.
That sounds like a wonderful thought. Just make sure you pack them etremely well so they can't move around and break.
I always pack cookies in a clean Pringles can. You can wash it out with soap and water if you don't saturate it and dry it quickly. The wrap the outside in wrapping paper. Make sure your cookies aren't too big to fit in the opening.
