Plans for tomorrow?
Most of us have evening Eve plans but what are you doing tomorow during the day? I don't have anything planned. Everything is done. The temps are supposed to be near 70, so I'm hoping the kids spend most of the day outside to let off some energy.
The weather here is to be nasty the way it sounds.. Got to love OhiO... We are going to my grandma's in the afternoon.. Then we will be coming home and DD's boyfriend will be over for presents, movies and he promised the girls a couple of games of twister.. Which should be a hoot to watch.. Then everyone off to bed...
I have had a few last minute dessert requests so I'll be baking tomorrow and even wrapping a few things, I'm afraid. Other than that, it'll just be a regular day around here. Our big celebration will start around 4pm when we'll head to my mom's for present opening and dinner.
I will be putting boxes of stuff away like a madwoman. The in laws are coming sometime in the early afternoon. We will also have our couches delivered sometime between 2 and 6. I feel bad for those delivering it because they are working Christmas Eve. I also have to do the grocery shopping for the time the in laws are here. I get to wrap presents Christmas Day because we won't be unwrapping until Christmas Day after dinner.
Cleaning, Cleaning, cleaning, cooking, laundry....and WRAPPING. I'm soooooooo far behind! Then church at 7, where finally I can sit down and appreciate the "reason for the season."
Up until 2pm not too much from 2-8 working this is the first year i have to work on christmas eve and we usually go to my mom and dad's = ( ...
We plan to decorate the tree after breakfast. We're very late because we were gone. We'll go to Williamsburg, walk around to see the decorations, have dinner at a local restaurant and go back for the lighting of the tree and caroling. Later tonight I'll put the final gifts into bags and stuff the stockings.
We will be having Christmas! We don't do anything on Christmas Eve. Tonight we'll do stockings. My dh's family will be at our house after we have our own family Christmas. Big breakfast then a late dinner tomorrow night with just the three of us.
This afternoon my mother and sister are coming over, tonight the inlaws, tomorrow morning the kids will open gifts, tomorrow late morning we go to my dad's for a few hours, back to my house to meet my mother (again) and then to dh's aunt's house for the rest of the day, tomorrow night my mother is spending the night with us. It's not as crazy as it sounds!
On Christmas Eve, we get together with extended family and do the children's name drawing gifts and have dinner. Then we go to my in laws to do a gift exchange with them. On Christmas Eve Eve, we went to my mother's and had breakfast at noon and opened gifts. On Christmas Day, we all get up early and open our gifts, and gifts from Santa. Then hubby helps me make a ham dinner that my parents and his parents come to. Very casual. Usually all of us stay in our jammies! The kids play with and show off their new toys to the grandparents, and we all enjoy a good meal and relax.
I need to get upstairs and start making the sauce for my lasagna! Choir practice at 3pm. Church at 4:30pm. Then come home to lasagna dinner. In the evening, I have to put together the egg bake for tomorrow and make the jello that I'm taking to my SIL's tomorrow.
I have more baking and cleaning to do before heading to my sister's house at 6pm. We should be home by 9:30 - 10pm to sprinkle the reindeer food on the lawn and get the younger kids to bed. I may attend the candlelight service tonight; that will depend on how tired I am. Christmas Day will be spent at home.
Since *tomorrow* is today...baking, baking, baking! Also, wrapping gifts and 3 last minute gifts to pick-up that I forgot about---involves a trip to the mall. ARRGHH! Tonight we have church and then we're going to our first ever "Bonfires on the Levee"--a Cajun tradition that we've always meant to go to, but have never made it in our 4 Christmases here.
Christmas Eve I make Cinnamon Rolls to deliver to friends for Christmas morning, i guess I should start Tonight we will have finger foods and play our family game in our new jammies, than before bed we will jump in the car and go "light hunting" cruise around and look at Houses decorated for Christmas, come home tuck the kiddies in and begin to set up our "Rock and Roll Pad" we are turning our playroom into a band room with the new insturments we got them for Christmas. In the AM we will have breakfast after gifts than go hiking, yes it's forecasted to be 72 here tomorrow Every year we go up into the mountains, we've had snow a couple of years but usually we are hiking in short sleeves! Just the 6 of us for dinner this year, unless someone gets invited today which is a possibility Pam, I would love to go to the Bonfires, I heard about it several years ago when i was in New Orleans! have fun
Kym, I'll get some pictures and let you know when they're up. I'm excited that we are REALLY going this year!
Tonight we spend with Dh's family, tomorrow we stay home all day!! My dad is coming over as well as my aunt and uncle and maybe some friends. We have a "open house" of sorts. People know we stay home on Christmas Day and any and all are welcome to stop over!!
Today we are hanging out. I made breakfast this morning for us. Then we played games. DS is going with his mom this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon, so we opened up a present to each of us this morning. It's been a perfect day! We got all our baking done yesterday! Merry Christmas!
Maybe after supper, we can search out the houses that won the lighting contest! One house takes lighting excess to a whole new level! LOL! DH and I did some last minute shopping together, then we went out to pizza hut, where they had a pizza buffet, so eating didn't take too long. My lasagna is put together and I have to go to church soon. The kids did the lasagna, with me just supervising. Last year, they only put 1/3 cup of the cheese mixture on, not 1/3 of the whole mixture. I was already at church, when they were going it. This year, we were a little ahead of the game and I was still here to supervise.
Church tonight, church in the morning. The afternoon with my beautiful granddaughter and her parents and other family. Everything is wrapped (thank whoever invented gift bags) and, wonder of wonders, the laundry is all caught up.
We are going to my best friend's house for Christmas, to celebrate in her new home. I am working on a *secret* gift for her. She and I went shopping this morning, and I brought my camera and took pictures of the front of her house, and her Christmas tree with all the presents underneath it, and her interior decorations. Tomorrow I'm going to take photos of her whole family together plus the entire gathering, etc. Her Dad is there too, he is not well, and this is his first Christmas *with the kids* in over 10 years, he told me today. Soooooo I am going to make her a photo album of the first Christmas in their new house with all the photos I'm taking. She has no clue. It's a good thing we planned on being there this year - the kids are all scattered this year and I don't have the heart to do it up big this year. I did spend the afternoon cooking stuff to bring tomorrow, and I'm making a salad that I posted about previously. So, as much as I was actually dreading Christmas, I'm excited now about our plans for tomorrow and feel pretty good about things now. And Ginny - I just LOVE gift bags! They are THE best invention! LOL
Ginny and Karen, I hope you each have a great time! We are done with church now and full of lasagna! Still have to make my things for tomorrow, look at lights, in the rain, and maybe watch It's a Wonderful Life on DVD.
Well, it's 11:20pm on Christmas Eve and I'm playing Yahtzee on the computer. DD hasn't fallen asleep yet and DH is in one of his depressive moods. So, here I sit...alone...oh what fun!
I'm here, too! DS 8, is still awake...
A little after 1 a.m. here. I just finished ironing tablecloths, setting the table, and mopping the kitchen floor. The boys have been asleep since 10--they were begging to go to bed they were so tired. I'm pooped too and am FINALLY about to turn it. Busy, busy day tomorrow! Merry Christmas!
It's not quite midnight and everything is ready to go for tomorrow morning. I'm just winding down after our big family celebration tonight. The kids have been out since about 10:30 and I know I should be joining them. We've got to get up early to do stockings, breakfast and dress in time for church. I hope all of you are having a lovely holiday!
I'm up and on the computer, the kids have been asleep since 8, I finished all the gift prep by midnight (I work well under pressure), and now I can't sleep! I'm SO excited, the kids really "get" the Santa thing this year, and we're webcasting the opening of presents for the grandparents. Tick tock... a few more hours!! Merry Christmas everyone!
I went to bed, shortly before 2, only because I turned on the TV and there was an interesting show about volcanoes, on National Geographic! LOL! Now, I'm up already and have to get dressed to go to church.
What a neat idea, Crystal!
How has everyone's morning been? Karen, it worked out really well, because my grandmom, who LOVES Christmas, was feeling a bit depressed, but seeing the kids open their gifts seemed to cheer her up! The wonders of technology, right?? Merry Christmas all!!
We stayed at my mom's for the night so that she could see the kids open their stockings. We've stuffed ourselves on brunch goodies and the kids are playing with their new toys. I think DH is hoping for a nap before we go to his family's for more present opening and desserts. We're having a WONDERFUL Christmas!!! I love the idea of webcasting the present opening! What a great way to bring your family together.
We all went to church last night. My choir was singing again this morning, so I just went to church by myself. While I was at church, the people still at home, got the egg bake in the oven. We ate breakfast, when I got home, around 10am. Then we opened our presents. After that, just hung out around the house. I got Sarah a book about a dog, Marley and Me. She went on the computer, so I started reading it! It was soooo funny. I had to keep reading stuff aloud to Emily, who was sitting next to me, playing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, on her gameboy. Then I went on the computer for a while. About midafternoon, we packed the car, went to my SIL's house. We ate, opened presents, ate some more, watched the Packer game (they lost - again), and then came home. It has been a fun day. I like my in-laws, so I enjoy going over there!
