Space Monkey-Dangerous Choking Game
I had never heard of this, but then again, I only have primary age children, and only work with children up to fourth grade. Dr. Phil's show was entirely on this. Kids will get on their knees and put their heads on the floor and breathe really quickly till they feel lightheaded. Then a "friend" will choke them with their arm or something till the person passes out. They wake up in a couple of minutes and feel lightheaded, tingly, and "high". They do this for the high they feel, and will do it over and over. Each time, the brain is literally seizing, and brain cells are dying. Very young kids are doing this, and I guess it is a big thing with preteens and teens. It's on the internet and everything. One thirteen year old died from this when he did it to himself with a rope tied to his bunkbeds. It's insane and terribly sad. I just wanted to get it out there in case any of you guys have never heard of this dangerous "game".
Thanks for the heads-up. What kids won't think of.
I've heard of people cutting off their air supply to enhance a climax, but not that. It's pretty scary, if you ask me.
I've never heard of that before but dh just said its nothing new, and that he used to do it as a kid. Now that explains everything!
Kids were doing this when I was in the fifth grade....um, that was 1975!
That is just stupid. I didn't watch the show, but I have seen a similar show. There is also the "Chubby Bunny" game that has killed kids. You stuff as many marshmallows as you can in your mouth until you can't say "chubby bunny" anymore. Kids (and some adults) don't realize that the marshmallows can/will melt and start to run down their throat. It cuts of the air supply quickly.
I've heard of the Chubby Bunny game. I never played either game, and never heard of them as a kid, and I was friends with all crowds or groups of people, if you know what I mean.
I first heard about this in the movie "Murder at 1600" and then at my 5 year class reunion I heard that a boy that I dated briefly died doing this while having sex. Sad.
We used to play this when I was in middle school. One of my brother's friends died doing the autoerotica version of this (hanging/choking while masturbating) when he was in 8th grade---his parents found him hanging in his closet. It is real and it is scary.
