Classmates dot com question
Never mind. I found my answer.
Ok, thats funny you mentioned this. Because last month I had the same exact thing happen to me!!! It said I had 2 notes one was from a girl I was friends with and the other was from a guy I dated briefly... I thought it was strange and I didnt respond to either of them. Today I got a note that said I have had 31 visits to my profile.... Yeah right!!! I just deleted the email and didnt read it.
So? What was your answer?? lol Dont leave me hanging.
Lol, Conni! Apparently if you're not a member you can still send someone a "Quicknote" but you can't personalize it. There are like 6 or 8 notes you can chose from and that was one of them. If you want to personalize a message you have to be a member. So I guess maybe this guy isn't a member, but found me on there and wanted to send something. Probably not a good choice! lol The one that said, "Hi, haven't talked to you in a while. Let's get in touch." probably would have been better than asking for my picture! Oh well. Oh, I got an email saying I had 24 visits to my profile. You're more popular than me! WAH! rofl
I get emails from that site several times a week and I delete them all. LOL
I don't get messages from people, but I do get routine emails from classmates. I got one today that said I had 19 visits to my profile, so I'm in the ballpark with the rest of you! I wish I could know WHO is looking at my profile! I'm too cheap to pay the money, though! LOL! My class knows where I am, though. I do get invites to the reunions, so I'm not worried. The last reunion, someone set up a website and had a message board, so we could communicate with people, there.
Oh, I feel kind of bad now that I didnt email them back! LOL I am real paranoid about things like that and just delete alot of things without looking into them first. oops.
Connie, I wouldn't email them back, and would delete the emails (which is what I do). I have also received emails saying I've had visits to my profile, but my mental response is "what profile"? Since I never visited the site, anything they might have on "my profile" would be public record material, that is, information from my highschool yearbook - which would not have my email address. I am guessing that I am on their list because I signed it at some site or purchased something from some site, and the site broke its promise about not selling my email or using it for other purposes. I watch for that promise when I think about registering at a site, and take it seriously. So if someone is breaking a promise and selling or distributing my email address to classmates.com or others, I sure don't want to play their game. I am already in touch with anyone I want to be in touch with from my highschool years (and later), and don't need a commercial site to help me with it.
