Frozen eggs?
I had a real "blonde" moment earlier today. I was cleaning up from breakfast and put a carton of eggs in the freezer instead of the fridge. I found them a couple of hours later and they were frozen. I have them in the fridge now. Can I thaw them and use them or should I just run out tonight and get some more?
Freeze Eggs for Longer Storage: Eggs should not be frozen in their shells. To freeze whole eggs, beat yolks and whites together. Egg whites and yolks can also be frozen by themselves. Use frozen eggs within a year. If eggs freeze accidentally in their shells, keep them frozen until needed. Defrost them in refrigerator. Discard any with cracked shells. Egg Information
Absolutely don't use them. I did that once, and my son will never, never forget how truly awful his scrambled eggs tasted. (And I've always been a brunette.)
Thanks, both of you. I went ahead and tossed them and picked up a new dozen. Bummer, I'd only used one out of the carton.
Darn it! Probably just better that way, though!
