Our family Christmas letter this year...
Usually, I list off what we did this year, but I guess I'm getting old and sentimental. I included a picture of Connor (his professional picture) and the picture of him "graduating" from his sign language class with all 3 of us. Here is what we sent out: “We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.†-Mother Teresa All too often we think that little things are indeed little. But to be faithful in little things is a great thing. We celebrate this day because of a little boy. Purity, chastity, and virginity created a special beauty in Mary that attracted God’s attention. He showed his great love for the world by giving Jesus to her and to this world. For this, we are eternally grateful for something that started so little. As we watch our televisions and listen to our radios for every bit of news, we are reminded to do the little things. We can’t wait for our leaders to act upon things we care about. We must give and forgive, person to person. Ever so slightly, ever so little, yet ever so needed. When you have a child yourself, you are reminded of a world without boundaries. Our children might be afraid of the Cookie Monster yet, when it comes to a total stranger, will give love unconditionally. This little bit of love lets us know that we, as people, belong to each other. To uncouple the ease we have to love people far away, it would take the courage to ease the troubles of those in our own home. To listen with an intent ear and to speak with a loving heart to those closest to you means that you are willing to go the distance. A distance that is more difficult to travel than miles alone. To understand the love that this little boy had, we must understand each other. Let’s insist on accepting the lepers, the beggars, and the tax collectors. Accept those little things that keep us from understanding each other, and even ourselves. The fruit of understanding is appreciation and the fruit of appreciation is love. When we give, we must give happily. When we take, we must take graciously. And, when we are not able to do either, we must graciously enjoy what we have and don’t have. We thank God for the little things. Love, forgiveness, and understanding…let us give, take, and embrace each other without judgment. Love- DH, Me, C, and Barley
Awww, that's a nice letter.
Sweet...
That's lovely Mrs Heidi.
How wonderful! One day I might actually feel organized at Christmas to do things like that.
Very nice...
