Gentle Face Cleansers??

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive December 2005 : Gentle Face Cleansers??
By Mom2three1968 on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 - 06:01 pm:

Does anyone know or use a brand of cleanser that is gentle to skin? My dd is 13 and has been using bar soaps, dial, ivory, and oil of olay, all of these soaps give her cheeks a really red slapped in the face look and she says that it burns too. Anything that I could try that would be gentler for her skin??

Maybe a baby wash? Aveno has some great products.

I agree about the baby wash.. DS soon to be 14 switched to baby wash, to much improvement. His nose was always red, upset all the time because he looked like Rudolph.. Poor little fella... NOT!! serves him right... Told him be a brat and your nose turns red... LOL

I have sensitive skin and can NOT use regular soap on my face or I'd be asking for trouble. LOL! I have been very happy with this cleanser {link below} made by Neutrogena. They have a lot of different products for different types of skin, are reasonably priced and readily available at most stores.

Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Solutions™ Cleansing Wash

Sensitive skin here to and the best combination I've found is Aveeno's Pore Cleansing bar and Aveeno's Ultra-Calming Moisturizer. I believe there is also an Ultra-Calming foaming face wash but I still deal with acne so I need a stronger cleanser. I had bright red cheeks most of the time and thought I might have rosecea until I found that moisturizer. I love it!

Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub! It's the best! I've used a ton of products and I still have that "baby soft skin" that doesn't go we'll with a lot of stuff. Aveeno has worked great so far and i've used it for 2 months.

Cetaphil!

By Karen~moderator on Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 10:58 am:

Jen and Jeff liked the Neutrogena, but Jules swears by Cetaphil. She always had *perfect* skin in her teens, but in her 20's she developed some pretty bad acne, and along with that has sensitive skin. She uses Cetaphil and Pro-active, and her skin looks like it did when she was a teen.

A dermatologist I went to years ago told me that he only recommended Cetaphil.

By Feona on Friday, December 16, 2005 - 06:35 am:

Cetaphil but they have a new face wash with a pump and I didn't like it. I like the plain old fashioned Cetaphil.

We often use and really like Cetaphil moisturizers. I didn't realize they had a facial cleanser, too!
