Pet turtles
Does anyone have one? Information please
I have 2 or I should say I had. One is still in the tank, but another one is somewhere around my house. I have no clue where it went. Anyways, I have Red Eared Sliders. I love them!!! They are dirty animals, o you need to have a filter in the tank, or you need to clean the water a lot. They are pretty easy to take care of.
I think you have to wash you hands if you touch them? Samonella. or something. The cage smells when they are big don't they? I know some teenage who got sick of cleaning the cage. But that is with any animal.
My best friend has a Red-Eared Slider and it is the most fun "non-cuddly" animal I've ever seen. He's completely entertaining to watch, he's pretty tame (the adults can hold him, the kids are scared to) and, other than the cage cleaning, pretty low-maintanence. If you have any particular question, I can ask for you, Paula.
I don't know. My son's Christmas list is as follows: yellow apples Christmas tree real live turtle CD remote control snake Not much to work with. When he actually wrote his letter to Santa all he asked for was a real live turtle and some money for poor people to help them buy medicine. He is 6. I'm not sure I want a real live turtle. I had heard that they stink. Is that true? What do they eat? What type of environment do they need? An aquarium?
we keep our red slider turtles in a fish aquarium with a few big rocks in it. they like to crawl around and then swim around. they are fascinating to watch and not alot of trouble. just toss them some food and keep going they like to eat lil feeder fish that make them chase them to catch them and they like some fresh apples ..but they also have turtle food they eat also. if u dont change the filter every week then it duz have a odor to it but not a big deal.
I had a box turtle in college. Those suckers live for a long time! They also hibernate quite a bit. But we loved our turtle, we kept him in an aquarium, but no water, just shavings. He ate lettuce, but very very little. I changed the water daily. Box turtles are known to bite, so you do have to be careful. Mine never did, he was pretty tame. We used to walk him on a special leash in the dorm
