Creative invite ideas.....help!
DS is going to be turning 5 next month and I just booked a Science guy to come to our house and do crazy experiments for him and all his friends. I need your help on putting together an invite. The company is called Mad Science. They will bring things like Dry Ice do Chemical Reactions and they all get to make some Slime. You guys never let me down...I need your Help. Thank you!
Andi, this should be cute.. I am thinking about it and will be back.. Are you just looking for wording for the invite or are you looking for the whole design of the card? As in making personal cards all on your very own?
Here are two ideas I found online: 1. For my son Evan's 10th birthday, we had a science party. Invitations were written in white crayon and the guest had to sketch over them with magic marker to make the hidden message appear. Here is a wording idea: 2. Make BUBBLES disappear or create your own SLIME be a SCIENTIST for a day and have a super GREAT TIME! You're invited to celebrate with RACE ANDERSON at his 5th Birthday Party featuring entertainment by Mad Science 1:30 p.m. 9000 Benguiat Cove Toluca Lake R.s.v.p. (360) 555-0083 I was plannin gon finding some cool paper and just printing it out.
Andi, I was thinking about this for my son's b-day in March. I was going to use test-tubes and include the invite in there with a catchy saying: Maybe, Come on over for some fun, slime and goo for everyone! (kinda corney but hey!! LOL)
Where would I get Test Tubes? Are you going to mail them or hand them out?
We did this for my son's fifth birthday. My SIL used to do the Mad Science thing so she came and put on a show for the kids. We made the invites: Fun foam in the shape of a beaker and glued on the beaker was a radioactive symbol in a different colour. It turned out quite good - I thought. The kids had a lot of fun. My SIL is also head of the science department and teaches biology at a high school so she was able to bring a lot of things for experiments. Have fun.
Andi, you can find test tubes at any teachers' supply store or the Discovery store. I think that sounds like such a great idea. I know my ds would love to have someone like your Science Guy.
All of the ideas sounds SO GREAT! What a fun birthday party. For the test tubes, they will likely be pretty pricey at the teacher stores. Maybe do a search for test tubes...you might find a science place where you can get them in bulk for cheaper. (Don't know how many you would need.) Really a cool idea!!!
Ebay has tons Andi. I will hand them out to the moms. Plastic ones are oviously safer then glass, too. Just a thought.
Oh how fun!! We have the mad science crew at our elementary school every year. They are great!
This is who I hired to do the party for DS: http://www.madscience.org:8080/sandiego/ He saw this guy at his Preschool last year and loved it so we decided to do it for his Birthday this year. Melissa, do you have a picture of the invitations you made for your son?
Sounds so cool. I would probably make invites, shaped like a test tube. You could probably do them yourself. And then use your computer to print on them what you would like... What a fun time its going to be!!!
I will see if I can find one, I don't think I do, but I'll check.
