Yesterday when it was -29C my son got frostbite. I feel so bad. I told the kids to wait for me by the car and to stay there. I got tied up and was about 10 minutes getting to the car. He and DD were playing and he was screaming when I got there. His ear was quite red. I looked online for information on frostbite and it said it presents itself as white first. Since his was red I figured he had frostnip, not frostbite. Well, today he has blisters on the edge of his ears.

Now, he did have a hat but didn't put it on. His sister had hers on and was just fine. The kids were outside at recess and nothing happened.

{{{{{Paula}}}}} I know you feel bad, and I would, too, but the kid should have put his hat on! I'm willing to bet he will next time. Hard lesson learned, hopefully. We got to about -15F during the night and it's about 2 right now. School is delayed again (they canceled it yesterday) because so many kids wait at bus stops they don't want them standing out there too long. They should have school today because it is supposed to warm up and get into the high 20's. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40's. Heat wave! lol More hugs to you and your ds.

lol , Cat !(((Paula))) , Your son sounds like my dd.They alway`s learn the hard way.
One time dd was helping me pull weeds.
We have alot of long grassy weeds here they look look tall blades of grass.
Dd came running over to me crying !
Her hands and fingers were all covered with cuts and bleeding.
I remember feeling horrible!
I should have reminded her to wear gloves.
Well, she always wears them now.
Don`t beat your self up too bad.
Hope his ear feels better soon!
This weather has been so bitterly cold here too.
It was -8F this a.m.
We set a record for the month of December.
My poor sister from Fla. is flying in today for our family Christmas.
We are going to have to turn the heat up for her.

Poor little guy! Stuff happens, though.

It's snowing by me, tonight! I got some free tickets to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and tonight is the only time we can go! So, we will go out, anyway. I want to see the play. We'll just leave early and take it easy. It's just in town.
