I just signed up to get a dish. It is actually going to be cheaper then cable. I will get the dvr I was wanting. Our cable goes up every year. I just want to make sure I will be happy with this. Please tell me I did the right thing!!

We have had a satellite for about 6 1/2 years now and have never regretted it. Every once in a while, if it is extremely stormy outside the signal will temporarily be lost, but we have never had it out for more that an hour tops. I LOVE DVR (TIVO) oh my gosh, it will change the way you watch TV. We will start watching programs about 20-30 minutes into it and then fast forward through the commercial. It is great to know that certain shows will always be recorded so you don't have to worry about a tape or setting the VCR. You won't regret it!

We've had satellite for about 5 yrs. and also love it. Regardless of what you have anymore, TV bills are just high so it's so ridiculous. We have DirecTV (mainly for the NFL Sunday Ticket), but haven't gotten the TiVO yet. That's on our wish list! You did the right thing! But be prepared that it WILL go out during cloudiness, heavy snow, and some thunderstorms. You'll lose your signal then, and we eventually had to relocate our satellite due to our tree getting so big. (My dh did the install himself because he's good at things like that.)

We have DISH and we don't like it. DirecTV was so much better. We keep saying that we're going to go back, but we haven't done it yet. It's the same price. DirecTV gets more of the channels that we would watch. DISH doesn't have anything too great. There are LOTS of times when we can find NOTHING to watch
