Are you making any Christmas gifts?
My husband's "uncle" (adopted/honorary uncle) passed away on Thanksgiving. His "aunt" is very sad (as expected) and I wanted to make her something special. I made her a stained glass angel ornament and included the poem "Angels among us". She was so thrilled with it, I am now making my 5th one. I think I am going to give everyone in the family an angel. Who knows, maybe this will become a tradition. I am having a blast making them and it is using up all my scrap glass. Are you making gifts this year? If so--what?
I've been trying to crochet a scarf for my sister in law but it's taking longer than expected. (Lots of stuff going on) I'm also making some things for my ds (designs on a shirt), and if I have time, a cross stitched bookmark for my mother in law. (I limited myself this year.)
I'm crocheting scarves for my nephews. Two down, one to go! This is the only "crafty" thing I do so I'm fairly limited. I'd love to learn to cross stitch. Of course, I've been saying that for four or five years and still haven't. Maybe, someday, when I get some free time...
I'm cross stitching on a tote for my math teacher and cross stitching jar lid covers for my co-workers. I painted a wooden shelf for my mom & am sewing fleece hats for my dad & best friend.
I knit a fairisle sweater for my almost year old nephew. His birthday is Dec. 29, so I'm working on a first year scrapbook for that. I think I'll make a scrapbook of the kids for my inlaws, one of Em for her biological parents, and one for a friend. I always do a scrapbook for her every year, of her 2 girls.
We decorated paint cans with fabric and ribbon. Inside we put homemade candies, cookies, one of our candles and a potholder. The kids handed them out to the neighbors and some family friends this weekend. It was a hit. The kids wore their santa hats and took the dog Cosmo with them--he too had on a santa hat. Too cute! Now I will need to think of a new idea for next year....
