Christmas dinner ideas
every year we have something different for Christmas dinner and the last couple years have been mexican. We have decided to try something different so does anyone have any idea beside turkey and ham
We are thinking about doing a italiano christmas. ravioli, tortellini, stuffed shells, italian cookies, canaloni, italian minestrone soup, the list can go on and on
We always do seafood...crab cakes, shrimp, etc and sometimes a standing rib roast!
Christmas eve we have steak fondue, ceasar salad, garlic bread & dessert. Oh yeah and a bottle of champagne. Christmas day we have filet minon, shrimp cocktail, salad & garlic bread.
I spend Christmas on my own most times, at least Christmas day dinner stuff so I end up taking myself out for dinner! I have to admit I always do the "traditional" dinner when I do cook it though. All these ideas sound YUMMY though!
I cook salmon or lobster tails and rib eye steak. We got people who hate fish and some who hate meat. Something easy.
Yvonne, I would love to try fondue...What is your recipe for the steak? Its sounds delicious.
All you do is put peanut oil in fondue pot and cook steak in it. I cut sirloin tip steak into cubes and we cook it in the fondue pot. I add a tablespoon of garlic to the oil for extra flavor. We have the fondue, salad, garlic toast and champagne. Dessert is usually cheesecake. My mom always served this on Christmas Eve and now I do too. It is very easy and my family loves it. Happy Holidays! Yvonne
Thanks Yvonne, I think I am off to buy a fondue kit.
