What was your favorite Christmas present ever??
I remember mine! It was a Baby Crissy Doll that I got in first grade. I remember wanting a new bike more than anything in the world and on Christmas morning, there in front of our tree was a brand new bike, but what was even better was on top of this bike was the most beautiful baby doll I had ever seen! (Mom had it proped somehow up on the seat of the bike). This wasn't something I asked for and she has since told me that the doll was just a last minute gift that she had found on sale on Christmas Eve. I still have the doll sitting in my bedroom on my chest, of course now she has on her new Christmas outfit! (I buy this doll a new Christmas outfit every year, how sick am I????) But 26 years later, she is still my favorite Christmas present ever!! Oh I cut her hair the minute I got her (babies didn't have that long of hair, I thought) and named her Kathy (don't know why).
Joelle, I still have my baby Chrissy Doll to! She was always my favoriteMine still has long hair tho.
I cut my sister's crissy dolls hair. She had the one that had hair that grew. LOL. I thought it would grow back--it didn't. My favorite gift was a Barbie cruise ship my dad bought me. My dad never bought gifts but that year he surprised everyone by going shopping.
I don't remember any significant present as a kid, but as an adult, DH and I had been given a computer, by my dad, but it only had a 200 mb hard drive. Then, for Christmas, after being told not to expect more computer stuff, we got an 850 mb hard drive. I remember being sooooo happy that we had a gb of space to put stuff. It seemed limitless at the time. Now, it just makes me want to laugh, since my current computer has an 80 gig drive! LOL! Another present that made me happy, was an Olympus Stylus Zoom point and shoot camera! We had asked for it, or something. I think DH had picked it out! Now that we have digital, we hardly use it anymore, but we did take it to Niagara Falls, since it is sealed up enough to use under wet conditions. We took it on the Maid of the Mist with us! My first Christmas, after I had been on my own for a complete year, I got KitchenAid mixer. I still have that thing and I first got it in 1984! It's 21 years old! Gary's dad always used to give us a big check for Christmas, when he was still living. One year, we spent it on an inkjet printer ($400, can you believe it?) and a decent modem, so we could get on the internet! We spent the money in January of 1997. Believe it or not, that printer is still being used, too. It's on the computer at Gary's dad's house. It has been used to print out a lot of stuff from Ebay and Paypal!
Typewriter, age 9 (1972!) Trampoline, age 10 Camero, age 15
Record player with speakers one year, teenager in the 70's, and another time a tape recorder, probably 13 years old. I loved playing with that tape recorder! I also loved all that bonnie bell stuff I used to get.
My Barbie House when I was little. My dog Gizmo. He was my very first Cjristams present when Chris and I got married.
Probably my Cabbage Patch doll when i was around 9 yrs old. My best b-day gift was my nintendo! I was so excited to get that thing.
We had Crissy and also Velvet. Didn't cut their hair though. My favorite Christmas present as a child was the malibu barbie camper. That was the year Santa Claus left soot marks from our fireplace, to the tree and back. All over my mother's carpet.
I remember being totally exited over getting my very own record player! LOL! I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, so this was back in 1970. It was a CLOSE'N PLAY.
Barbie Dream House and my KITCHEN SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trampoline when I was 8. I played on it throughout highschool and really loved it!
Last year, my mom made a scrapbook of my wedding and Christopher's birth, and his first year. It is beautiful and made me cry! She plans on adding to it as he grows. It is the best, most thoughtful gift I have ever received.
OMG!!!! I LOVED my Close and Play! I got that for Christmas when I was 7 or 8!!!! Lime green!!! Awesome! And I got my first Patridge Family album with it!!!!!
This was without a doubt my favorite Christmas present. DH had it done from a photo and framed and matted it the Christmas before we were married.
