Bump on wrist.. any thoughts
I have a small- about the size of a piece of cous-cous? - bump on the side of one of my wrists. It is hard and not moveable. Location? Straight down from my thumb on the round knobby bone on the inner side of my arm. It does not hurt - I can just see it through the skin. Has anyone ever had anything like this? I think it cropped up over the past month. This is the arm I hold my 30lb son with and also in the past month, I've been taking a self-defense class where the instructors grabbed just above our wrists alot so we could learn to break free. I guess what I'm trying to say is that that area has seen more trauma than usual lately. Any sort of hard bump makes me nervous....!!!! thanks for any feedback. Amy
Sounds like it could be a Ganglion Cyst.
Is it possibly a seed wart? I'm not sure from your description, but these will just pop up all of a sudden, are hard, and don't hurt. They are caused from a virus. My dd and dh have very small ones.
It is under the skin - so I guess not a wart. I'm up for any ideas - esp. ones that don't lead to cancer! Glink!
I have what I think is a cyst on the back of my hand. It doesn't hurt and is really only noticable if I make a fist and/or bend my hand down at the wrist. It's about 1 1/2 inches above my wrist, straight down between the first and second knuckes. My dh had a cyst on his wrist, kind of where you described. He's had it drained a couple times because it was causing him pain. His dad had one in about the same place that never bothered him. He fell out of bed one night, using his hand to break his fall and it's gone now! He said they sometimes call them Bible-breaker cysts (?) because they used to take big books and hit them to break them. Youch!!! lol If you're concerned absolutely have your doc check it out.
Ditto Karen. My dh has one.
There was a previous post about cysts on the wrist. The name was given. I believe it starts with a G. My sister had one. She had to have it removed. It was slightly annoying but not painful. She only has a tiny scar.
