Update on Rylee's Tantrums
She is getting better. I have been doing time-outs now. I sit her in front of my door and put the timer on the oven on for 2 minutes since she will be 2 soon. If she gets up, the time goes up 1 minute. She has been doing better. When her time is up, I get down to her level, tell her to look at my eyes, and I tell her what she did wrong. She gives me a hug and a kiss, says she is sorry, and then I tell her that i love her very much and give her another big hug.
Sounds like it's going great! sometimes it's hard to know exactly what gets through to them because every kid is so different. Sounds like you've found it! Good job mom!
I agree that it sounds like you are doing something that is working well. The key is to be consistant with it each and every time. If you stray even just a little, she will pick up on that and it will get harder again. I think just about any punishment can be effective if it is used consistantly without fail.
Ditto Vicki and Congrats to you for figuring her out...for now, anyway! She sounds like she's going to keep you on your toes for the next few years but what a cutie!
