I am getting so very frustrated with this new Lingo phone service that we got. My dh cancelled our regular land line in favor of this. It has alot of the same features and a few more that SBC has, including unlimited long distance, call waiting, conference calls etc... But the reception sucks! I am sorry to put it that way but that about explains it. The phone service cuts out all the time, the line is choppy for the listener and you can be talking to someone and all of a sudden they are yelling for you because they can't hear you, then they hang up. It is so terribly frustrating. I am wondering if anyone else has either one of these services and what are your experiences with them. dh says that the vonage is supposed to be better but of course their more money. We are paying $19.95 right now per month, but the are touting it like it's this great deal, I'm really beginning to regret this phone decision that we've made and starting to remember the old line "you get what you pay for!" If anyone has these services tell me your experiences please...

I've never heard of Lingo, but we do have Vonage for a second phone line. We chose it because you could choose it to be a number from any state--so we chose the state my Mom lives in. So, she can call it like a local phone number and not pay to talk to my DD everyday. I also use it a lot for long distance calls. It works really well most days, but sometimes when the weather is bad, it gets static and I just use our other line. I think we pay $24.99. I can't remember; it gets taken out of the bank automatically.

BTW-I don't think I would use one of these lines for my only phone. I think they are wonderful, but they have a ways to go yet.
