Showing faster?
I've always heard that a lot of women show faster with subsequent pregnancies because everything's already stretched out and there's not the same amount of muscle tone that was there before having kids. Boy, I never thought it would happen with me. With Kaitlyn I didn't show until I was 5 months along and even then it was barely a bump. Now, i'm almost 2 months along and I look like I did at 5 months! I'm wearing all loose fitting clothes because none of my jeans fit. This is all so strange. Oh and everyone is guessing i'm having a boy since everything seems to be so different this time around. We'll see if their right come January. Did you show faster with subsequent pregnancies?
I was in maternity clothes at around 8 or 9 weeks with #1. With #2, I had a bump by 6 weeks, but it remained just a bump for another 8-10 weeks because I was so sick, I lost 12 lbs. I think most everyone shows faster after #1. I know people who have 3 and 4 kids, some have shown faster with each one, some just showed faster after #1, at around the same rate for each subsequent pregnancy. It depends on your body.
Yes, I showed faster with my 2nd ds. I didn't even gain any weight until I was almost 4 months pregnant because I was so sick. But, I still couldn't fit into my regular clothes. I hate to burst your bubble, but my 2nd pregnancy was completely different then my 1st and I have 2 boys.
I wore my regular clothes with Katelyn until I was nearly 7 month. But with Hailey I was more like 3 months along. oops..lol So to answer your question..yes..definately!
I showed at about 4 months with ds #1, around 2 months with ds #2 and at conception with dd. LOL.
I showed at 6 months with my oldest. I was in fabulous shape before she was conceived. With my other two I had a bump by two months, even though I had terrible morning sickness with my third. My first two pregnancies were nearly identical and I had a girl, then a boy. There's no way to tell ahead of time. Have you told Kaitlyn that there is a baby coming?
Yes, oh and I'm still showing, my baby is 5.5yo... I was just telling my oldest that I'm due anytime now, I just know I am!!
No one will burst my bubble about the sex of the baby, lol. I'd actually like another girl but a boy would be fun too. I guess it is "normal" for me to look bigger. Sigh.....
I will burst your bubble right quick! LOL. I hardly showed with my 21 year old *baby* boy til the 6th month. Second time around- I couldn't wear anything after 2. Everybody thought I was crazy, crazy. Or just wanting to wear those big old clothes. Whatever. I kept thinking - what if it's twins? Nah. It was.
Melissa - I am soooo sorry! I didn't even know you were pregnant! I haven't been on quite as often as I used to be - a lot going on nowadays here. CONGRATULATIONS GIRL!!!!!!!! I know you must be thrilled!!!!!! And to add, I did show sooner the more kids I had.
OMG Melissa! I know I've been on here only sporadically lately because I have had so much going on, but how on earth did I miss the fact that you are expecting!!! Congratulations!!!
Oh yeah--this time it seems like I was in maternity clothes right away! It was a little bit of a shock for me. With DD, it was around 5-6 months that I started wearing them, but this time it was more like 3! Also, don't be surprised if you reach that "uncomfortable" time sooner too. I know, I did. Thankfully, the maternity clothes are much better for the early stages of pregnancy. They never had the low rise anything when I was pregnant the first time. I loved all the pants at Old Navy! Have fun and enjoy! Are you feeling better? Did you have your Dr.s appt yet?
The Dr. won't see me until i'm 12 weeks along. I hate it so i'm just a worry wart about everything. I want to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. I'm feeling okay though. The last 4 days I havn't had morning sickness at all, well minus an occasion queasy feeling but overall i'm good. (Which also worries me!) I'm extra irritable lately so DH and I have been like cats and dogs together. That's no different than the first time though. I have my first appt. Dec 6th so i'll have a bigger update then.
I had to go back really far in my memory (had my last baby 15 years ago!), but I do remember being so anxious in my first pregnancy that it took forever for me to show. Then, the next 2 pregnancies I just popped right out there! I'm so happy for you - we already know you make 'em cute!
