Back from Britain
Hi everyone! I'm back (actually I got back late Friday but Omigosh, I was wiped out!) and I had such a great time! We ended up spending three days in Edinburgh and that was without a doubt my favorite part of the trip. We did a Highland tour, spent time in the castle, went to ALL kinds of museums, and generally soaked up the Scottish atmosphere. It was surprisingly different than the environment in London. We loved London too. I did several sights that I hadn't done last time (the Millenium Bridge, The London Eye, The British Museum of Natural History) and it was such a good time staying with my sister and going about daily life. We spent time in the local pub and went grocery shopping (even that is a whole different story in England!). I'm super glad to be home though. My kids missed me a lot more than I anticipated and it's been heart-breaking to promise Bella over and over that I'm not leaving for London anytime soon or to hear that Sami cried every night at bedtime for me. Seth has been super cuddly (not his usual style) and my dh REALLY appreciates all the work I do around the house after having to do it all this last week. Now I just have a mountain of laundry to catch up on and you know, all that daily life stuff that simply cannot be done by anyone but me!
Glad you had fun, Tink! Tell me about the grocery stores....there is a Teletubby episode where kids go to a grocery store and I thought it was a really dirty, yucky looking store. The floors were mismatched and peeling and breaking apart, and it wasn't bright and colorful like I'm used to. Of course, I have found out that my grocery stores are generally better than most in the USA anyway, so I might have odd expectations. But I'm really curious!
Sounds like a great time! I read a book series that was placed in the Highlands, i would love to go just to see the places in the book! I bet your kids missed you!
Welcome back! I'm so envious. I would have loved to have tagged along! LOL It does sound like you had a good time. I bet being able to enjoy seeing your sister and the sites without worrying about your kids was a big part of that. I'm sure your kids will adjust quickly to mom being home again and start getting on your nerves soon (just kidding ). It's nice to get away for awhile, but just as nice to get home again.
Welcome home! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I would love to go to Scotland. One of my favorite book series starts out in Scotland and it makes me so curious! (The Outlander series) Aww, well, I'm glad for your kids that you are home too.
