I've been asking questions this week in regards to my 30th Birthday party and I'm back to ask more... LOL

I want to know what type of parties you have been to and if they had a theme?

We are having it at my fathers house which is great for entertaining. I would love to have a dj, so people can pick music they like etc.. Drinks will be served down in the bar, so that is covered.
But I need to know what activities would be fun or are people content just hanging out??? Any suggestions or ideas. I really want this to turn out nice, but truthfully the planning isn't up to me. I am going to share ideas with hubby and hopefully he will listen! LOL

I catered a surprise 40th recently with a luau theme...they had limbo and karaoke. Also they did a "quiz" about the birthday girl...the DJ went over the answers..no family members were allowed to participate! It was alot of fun.
They also did a scrapbook with pages for everyone to sign- they took polaroids of people with the birthday girl and then put them on the page.
Also a slide show with pics of her from childhood on through!

I was also going to suggest a Luau theme. We have a Luau at our house every summer. People come wearing their Hawaiian shirts. We hand out leis at the door and play beach type music. We also try to serve Hawaiian food and drinks (mai tais, daquiris etc.)

We have played Left Right Center and Pictionary at our parties. Every one usually is excited to play games, but i think a lot of people also just like to hang out and eat and drink.

I have also been to a wine tasting party which is really fun. Everyone brings a bottle of wine to share.
