1) Hurricane Francis ruined our September vacation last year
2) Hurricane Dennis ruined our July vacation this year
We booked a THIRD time and now....
3)It looks like Wilma is going to ruin this vacation. 3 times???????? I give up!

We keep *trying* to go to Key Largo. My parents are in route from NY and may now decide not to come at all. They left after 1 day last year because of the hurricane. My kids will be devastated as they only get to see them once a year. I am just sick. 3 times? I mean-- talk about rotten luck!

That really IS unbelievable,especially this time of year! I know we are not out of hurricane season yet, but who expected another strong storm so late in the season?!? I'm so sorry!!! What is the latest track? The last I heard it was headed towards Sanibel/Ft. Myers.

My parents just called. They are going to wait a couple days but think they will NOT be coming here. My daughter is in tears! Arghhh!

I am so sorry that would be so hard. I think I would try to go somewhere else. Gatlinburg Tennesee would be nice this time of year. Your parents could meet you there. Good luck and I hope that your dd feels better. ((hugs))

I hope I do not affend but we have been to Gatlinburg--not our cup of tea. We are boaters, snorklers, etc. We booked the Key Largo condo because it has a boat slip. The big thing is the money already spent on the condo. She rescheduled (twice) but will not refund so that money is down the drain. It sounds like they really do not know where this thing is going to turn so the whole state of Florida is at risk. It is difficult to make alternative plans when we may need to prepare house for hurricane. I am just frustrated because the past 3 vacations have not been "vacations" because of hurricanes. My hubby gets 2 weeks a year so this will be his last week of vacation time wasted until April 2006. The past 2 times we scrambled to do something else and it just ended up being a stressful week. I just want some R&R! Thanks for letting me vent!

Don't worry you did not offend me about Gatlinburg. I was just thinking about somewhere not to far from you or half way between. I thought the fall foilage would be nice. It does have some great outlet malls. But honestly I have not been there in probably 15 years. My last 2 vacations have been to Florida and I the next two in the back of my mind or Florida to. I hope things work out.
