Crokpot Ladies - Help!

I have a 5 1/2 pound pork loin roast with bones. I pan seared the outside and put it in the crockpot. I don't have 10 to 12 hours to let it cook on low. How long should I let it cook on high? Can I cook it on high for a bit and then turn it down to low and if so, for how long on each?

I have it cooking on high 6 hours now.

Thanks! I think I've use this thing once ...

I think it should be done if you have been cooking it for 6 hours on high. Can you check w/a meat thermometer?

I think that'd be fine. Hm. Maybe I'll go get some chicken out and make bbq chicken in my crockpot for dinner! :)

On low, I would say it may not be done, depending on your crock pot, but I would say it should be done being on High.

You're putting me to shame...I just bought a Rotisserie chicken. I've been sick all week and that was all I could muster. LOL:)

6 hrs. on high is what my crock pot instruction booklet says!

6 hours on high should be fine the less you lift the lid off to check the better.

Ame, how did your pork turn out? I'm sure it was delicious! :)

By Amecmom on Thursday, October 13, 2005 - 11:31 pm:

4 hours on high, a few more on low. It fell off the bone! My husband smiled and said it was so nice to come home to a hot meal that was already done!

Thanks ladies!

I put a can of low fat low sodium organic beef broth in there, so I have soup for another day, too!
