Any campers out there???
Well, we finally decided to get a camper! We really like to camp, but we also really like the conviences of home. So, we got a camper. We already have a pontoon boat and keep it at a lake and that is where we will put the camper. It will be a permanate camp site and it will stay there all year long. We ordered it last night and have to go into a lottery for a site on the first Saturday in April, so it will be a while before we get to use it. But, that also gives us lots of time to get all the things we need for it. I can think of lots of kitchen and bedding things we will need to get, but what are some of the things that you all use all the time while camping that I might not think about???
We have a fifth-wheel and it is fun outfitting campers, but you can really over-do it if you aren't careful. We travel with ours so weight is a concern (it probably won't be a problem for you though since you are parking your camper), but space is a concern too. I suggest hitting garage sales for some great deals on things for your camper. Here is a list of a few things you might not think about right off the top of your head. Kitchen: *Britta Pitcher *tea kettle *small knife block *utensil holder (spatula, spoon, tongs, whisk, fork, etc) *manual can opener *small dish drying rack *cutting board that fits on the sink (for extra work space) *collander *spark lighter *liquid and dry measuring cups *measuring spoons *storage containers with lids (I use the Ziploc kind) *cast iron skillets *pot holders *vinyl table cloth and weights for a picnic table *stone tile for the bottom of your oven (if you have one) so that the heat is better distributed *a small, magnetic pad of paper to write down items you are out of or need Other: *hangers for the closet (if there is one) *rubber gloves for dirty work like dumping the tanks *attachable hooks for the bathroom *a broom vac or dustbuster *a small broom and dustpan (or whisk broom) *flashlight *extra batteries *a smoke detector, if it doesn't come with one *flyswatter *a small caddy for the bathroom for cotton balls, q-tips, bandaids, ect *outdoor carpeting to put on the ground in front of the door (it really helps to keep leaves and junk from being tracked into the camper) *swiffer wetjet or other lightweight mop That's all I can think of for now.
