Help...cat question
The cat was mad at me yesterday and he PEED on my bed! He did this one other time when he was upset with me but he it was the bathtub, I could handle that. The problem is I have a feather matress pad, how do I clean it? It's very expensive and I love it I don't want to have to throw it away.
Oooh the little shite! I'd call a dry cleaner and see what they recommend.
Definitely the dry cleaner, exactly as you would with a feather comforter. And keep bedroom doors and other "sensitive" area doors closed. Cats will do this, darn them, and the only way to prevent it is to prevent access. I suggest when you know the cat is mad (and you won't always know), think about locking the cat into an area where peeing won't matter much - bathroom, basement (if you don't have stuff there that can't be easily cleaned) or garage. And feed him/her some treats and give lots of cuddling when the cat will allow it.
You know, I love cats. I really do. But MAN can they be little terds!!! lol Ditto everything Ginny said. I hope the dry cleaner can help you out. One of our cats is a real snob, but thankfully he's never done anything like that. I think dh might just loose it and we'd be minus one cat. Good luck.
Take your blanket to the cleaners. Keep an eye on kitty, sometimes when they have problems with urinary tract infections or kidney problems they will not use the litter box, it may not be that he is mad at you. I would check his box frequently to make sure he is using it. Good luck.
I was thinking the same thing, uti. I had a cat years ago that started doing this, peeing wherever and thats what it turned out to be. She would also cry when she was peeing.
Thank you I am going to call the cleaner, I was worried about how much it would be it is very big. I guess it will be cheaper than replacing the whole thing. I put him in the garage and don't plan on letting him back in unless he is with us (of course then he really will be mad at me). Thanks for the advice!
I worked at a cleaners a long time ago and we had a customer that would bring his comforter in at least twice a month because his cats kept peeing on it. Cats are very vindictive animals, I have three and my cat henry peed on a particular throw carpet that I had, this occurred when my grandson was born and he and his parents, (my ds and ddil) were living with me. He let me know that he was mad that he wasn't getting his usual attention, cat pee is very hard to get rid of the smell, there is a product called Nature's Miracle that you can use on carpets furniture etc, not sure if you can use it on a down comforter though! As others have mentioned make sure that he doesn't have an infection, uti's are very painful for humans as well as our furry friends.
Thanks! He has been using the litter box as normal and he seems to be feeling fine.
