This is my first 2 story house- and our stairs are carpeted... is there a special vac that you can buy for stairs?? Our regular vac weighs a ton and thus our stairs don't get cleaned as often as they need it. Any tips/tricks?

I have a dyson and its attachment reaches from the bottom of the stairs all the way to the top. I love it!

We have a little portable vacuum that is great for dog hair on the basement steps.

Sometimes I use the attachment on the upright vac. Sometimes I use a little handheld that has a beater in the end. Neither does a great job. I want a Dyson.

I have the same issue, I wonder if i should buy one of those new swiffer carpet things, with the sticky pad, that sure would be convienent.
