Recalls - gas grills, spindle cribs, and other stuff
My bosses are on an email list of recalls of products found hazardous. When I think the product is one that some of our members might own, I will post the recalls. SPINDLE CRIBS The CPSC and Pottery Barn Kids, of San Francisco, California, are recalling about 7,600 Spindle Cribs. The spindles on the crib's front rail can loosen and detach from the rail. This can allow the child to fall from the crib and poses a risk of entrapment. GAS GRILLS The CPSC and The Brinkmann Corporation, of Dallas, Texas, are recalling about 130,000 Brinkmann-brand and Charmglow-brand Gas Grills manufactured by Brinkmann. The regulators on these gas grills, the component that controls the amount of gas released to the burner, could leak gas when attached to certain liquid propane tanks. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries. (CPSC is the Consumer Product Safety Commission) GAS GRILLS The CPSC and The Brinkmann Corporation, of Dallas, Texas, are recalling about 130,000 Brinkmann-brand and Charmglow-brand Gas Grills manufactured by Brinkmann. The regulators on these gas grills, the component that controls the amount of gas released to the burner, could leak gas when attached to certain liquid propane tanks. This poses a risk of fire and burn injuries. GAS GRILLS SOLD EXCLUSIVELY AT HOME DEPOT The CPSC and Nexgrill Industries Inc., of City of Industry, California, are recalling about 86,000 Charmglow(R) Gas Grills. The hose connecting the propane tank with the manifold can run up too close to the firebox. The heat from the firebox can damage the hose, causing it to leak gas. The release of gas creates a fire risk that could cause injury and property damage. COLEMAN(R) GAS GRILLS AND PATIO HEATERS The CPSC and The Coleman Company, Inc., of Wichita, Kansas, and TPA Metals and Machinery of China, are recalling about 124,000 Coleman(R) Gas Grills and about 6,200 Coleman(R) Patio Heaters. The regulators on these products can leak propane when the propane cylinder is turned on and the product is not in use. This can pose a fire or explosion hazard. CHAIN SAWS The CPSC and DOLMAR Power Products, of Duluth, Georgia, are recalling about 1,300 DOLMAR chain saws. The flywheels on some of the chain saws may come apart during use, which could cause serious personal injury. AC ADAPTORS SOLD WITH SLIM VERSION PLAYSTATION(R) 2 SYSTEMS The CPSC and Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., of Foster City, California, are recalling about 843,000 AC Adaptors sold with slim version PlayStation(R) 2 Systems. The recalled AC adaptors can overheat and melt. This poses the risk of fire, burn and shock injuries to consumers. WATER KETTLES The CPSC and Capresso Inc., of Closter, New Jersey, are recalling about 15,000 Capresso Water Kettles. The handle can detach from the glass carafe, spilling hot water and causing severe burn injuries. TOWER HEATER FANS The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and The Holmes Group, of Milford, Massachusetts, are recalling about 180,000 Holmes and Bionaire Tower Heater Fans. The power cord on the units can fray or sever causing the fan to stop working and overheat. This could pose a fire hazard to consumers. CORDLESS DRILL/DRIVERS The CPSC and JS Products, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mac Tools, of Westerville, Ohio, are recalling about 2,000 3/8-Inch Drive Cordless Drill/Drivers. The battery packs on these drill/drivers can overheat, expand and possibly rupture, creating an explosion or thermal burn hazard.
