When I look at it like that, I really don't want anymore children. 41!! I will still be young enough to go places with DH and have lots of fun by the time my kids are grown. WOW. interesting.

Ha ha, Melissa. Out of the house at 45? I guess that isn't going to happen at my house! My mom was 38, when I turned 18 and I was out of the house at 23, so she was 43'ish, so that did work for my mom, but she was 21, when she had me!

I always wanted to be no more than 30 years older than my youngest child and I came close to doing it as I am 31 years older than Simon. I'm still working on dh for another son but if I can get dh to go for it I think he would be older than Simon.

They say that couples are now waiting to have kids a bit longer than they used to. I'm glad we waited 4 years...I got to know DH a lot better. And, the traveling was fun!

Really I don't regret it for a minute. I'm happy they're bigger. I enjoy them soooooooo much..although I miss babies sometimes...oh well eventually grandchildren....say when I'm 40 or sooner lol

This got me thinking, my mom will be 57 when my brother is 18, and she was 38.5 when she became a grandmom. Then again, she says it was a lot easier with me when she had lots of energy, my brother and sister wear her out now that she's older. I guess there really are benefits to both sides, because she can afford to do more with them, but she's too busy sleeping! LOL

Ditto Heidi. We waited 6(married) years and traveled, established ourselves professionally and financially, spent $, and had fun and FREEDOM! It was wonderful and I wouldn't change a thing. I could have waited another 5 years, but now I wouldn't have it any other way. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to both starting early or late.
