Ugh... I have one of those type of kids...
Im talking about a baby who cries when Im not there. Ok, that is not always true, at home its different. I took Faith to Jazzercise today. We havent gone in the monring in awhile since normally she takes her naps during that time. Last time we went in the morning was before school started and my other kids were with her, and she cried then. They have a babysitter in the next room. Ive been going to Jazzercise for over 11 yrs. Ive always taken my kids as babies, NEVER have I had a problem. Then Little Miss Faith, well shes is different, more of a mommys girl. She cried almost the whole time there today. I use to be proud of the fact that my 2 oldest kids never had a moment of separation anxiety. Ive seen many kids come and go there, who cry as soon as the moms leave, I never thought Id have one of them..UGh..makes it hard to go when shes crying in the next room. I guess Ill just have to go at nite where she can stay with my husband..Funny how kids are all so different.
My dd has had some form of separation anxiety since she was 5mths. old! The doctor can't believe how early it started with her. It was TERRIBLE from 5-6mths, then got better but still there. Now it's pretty good for her, but she still cries when we leave her with grandparents. I'm glad I'm a SAHM because I would NEVER leave her with a sitter or daycare. She doesn't care if it's mommy or daddy, she just wants at least one of us! She thoroughly enjoys Kindermusik, library story times, and being out and about as long as one of us is there My kid is definitely "one of those" and I've decided I don't mind at all! My friend's son is 17mths and would go with anyone, anytime, anywhere. Different personalities I guess, but I don't think it's so bad that Natalie is cautious of people she doesn't know. And like I said, I'm fortunate to be able to stay home, so I don't have to worry about the stresses of leaving her with another caregiver all day. I would be sooooo sad knowing that she's so upset and doesn't understand where Mommy is!
I think you're lucky she's a mama's girl. Enjoy it! She obviously feels loved and secure with you.
Oh my DD is the same way!! i can hardly run to the bathroom without her LOL!! She is my Mama's girl!
Leave it to the 3rd one to do the things the other 2 never did.
Emily is like that. In some ways, still like that, even at 13. In NIagara Falls, she was always by my side. Her 16yo sister always hassles her about that. I could drop them off places, usually, and they would stop crying, after I left. Once I had to go get Emily, from a birthday party, because she was freaking out! This same kid, did go to horse camp, for a week, all by herself this past summer, though. She would have never done that a few years ago!
