New Recipes?
Alright...I just did this REALLY EASY chicken recipe from my new cookbook...I posted it on the recipe board. (Under Pork, Ham, Lamb, and other meats.) DH said, "Man, you can make this EVERY night!" I also wanted to see if everyone can post a recipe that they LOVE on there...it doesn't seem to be a very updated place.
A friend recently gave me this recipe after she had shared her bread pudding and I begged her. I've made it twice since then. It's to die for!!!!!
Bread Pudding cubed white bread totaling at least 5 cups 1 cup pecans 3/4 cup raisins 3 eggs 2 1/2 cups milk 3/4 cups sugar 1 tablespoon cinnamon 3 tablespoon vanilla 1/8 cup butter Mix eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and melted butter together until well blended. Pour over cubed bread, and let set about 30 minutes Pour into well buttered 2 quart baking dish and bake approx 30 minutes. Whiskey Sauce 6 tablespoons butter 1 large egg 3/4 cup powdered sugar 2 tablespoons whiskey Melt butter in double boiler. In separate bowl mix egg and sugar; add to butter mixture Do not boil, but stir about 7 minutes while cooking over low heat, Scrape bottom to prevent scorching....... Punch holes in cooked pudding with a fork. Pour over hot pudding. Chill for 1 hour in refrigerator. I like it served hot.
Bump!
My kids family favorite is to thinly slice chicken breast and cook it italian dressing. I serve it over pasta (usually penne) and then with parmesan cheese. Sometime I toss in alfredo sauce or tomato sauce. But they really love the chicken.
Crockpot Lime Chicken Honey Lime Crockpot Chicken Lime and honey blended together to make this a tangy sweet chicken treat. 2 broiler-fryer chicken quarters 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 1 tablespoon butter-flavored margarine 1 teaspoon honey 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons white wine 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper Place chicken in bottom of slow cooker. Heat lime, margarine, honey, and garlic powder until margarine melts. Add white wine, salt and pepper. Pour lime mixture over chicken. Cover and cook on low 8 - 10 hours. ------------------------------------ I had to work today, through the dinner hour. Dad sometimes makes it home from work, for supper, but not 100%. Sometimes, I forget to think ahead about the kids' supper, so they wait for me to come home. (around 8 pm, usually). Or we do think ahead and have something available for them. Anyway, I did think about this yesterday and thought something in the crockpot would work wonderfully, since the cooking is all done for you, by suppertime! Sarah made rice and then they warmed up some frozen peas and had a nice supper. It was delicious and not that hard to throw together last night! I even remembered to get the crockpot running this morning! It was nice not having to worry about if the kids got supper or not!
Oh boy... I really have to get a crockpot!!!!
Yes, you do! They're great! I love just doing a little prep work the night before, throwing it in the fridge for the night, then turning it on in the morning, and having supper all cooked for you at night! It worked out well for my kids yesterday. Will have to keep that in mind, the next time I work a closing shift.
Ooohh...these DO look good!!
