Definition for "worry"
I read this over the weekend and it is now my screensaver: Worry is meditation on a negative outcome.
WOW, that one got me...ouch.
By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 02:26 pm: | I just told my DH that he has a graduate degree in meditation on a negative outcome.
By Latonya on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 03:36 pm: | I have that degree too!! WOW!! I have never looked at it that way.
I never looked at it that way either - my children will tell you I am an Olympic class worrier. But oh my, it makes sense.
By Nicki on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 05:22 pm: | I think I need this on my screensaver, too. If only I put all that energy (spent worrying) into positive thoughts!
Thanks, Ginny! I have trouble with my overactive worrying, so that saying definately hit home for me!
By Reds9298 on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 11:35 pm: | Ditto everyone. Sooo true for me, too. What an eye-opening saying. I need this posted all over my house! Thanks Ginny.
By Marcia on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 11:39 pm: | Here's another one.... Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles, it empties today of it's strength.
By Annie2 on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 - 11:44 pm: | Marcia, that one hits home to me. Especially when I wake up at dawn, everything is quiet and I start to let things come into my head. My definition could be: Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles; but empties my morning of sleep!
I just put it on my desktop too in HUGE letters and so it doesn't move too fast or too slow across the screen. OUCH! it sure hit close to home for me too! Thanks Ginny
