I was cleaning with the baby on my back in the snugli, and all the sudden I tried to turn my head and it hurt my shoulder. So now if I turn my head to the left it hurts my right shoulder right around the shoulderblade. But if I turn my head to the right it doesn't hurt. ANy ideas? ouch, it hurts. thanks

oh and if I turn it really really slow it doesn't hurt as bad.

Sounds like a pulled or strained muscle. Those can be very painful and last for days. You need to get it to relax, heat and massage will help a lot.

If you can get your hubby to apply pressure with his thumb to the exact spot, it will help to relieve it. I have to go for massage therapy often, and that's the one thing that helps almost instantly.

And if you can take it - and if you are nursing check with your doctor first - take an antinflammatory. Aspirin, at least two, four times a day, or over the counter Motrin (follow the package directions, as Motrin is a very good and potent antinflammatory. If you pulled or strained a muscle you absolutely have an inflammation - which is why heat is good. The sooner you reduce the inflammation the sooner you will heal.

Ouch! I'm glad it feels a little bit better today!

Candis, did you use heat - moist heat, as in a wet, hot towel works best. Massage, or pressure point therapy works well too. I've done that before, I know how it feels. Take care of you!

I feel completely better thanks so much. I didn't really have time to put heat on it but I did take it easy and it worked itself out.
