We found out today (less than a week from the flight) that DH is not deploying. The unit had told us "Everyone in this room is going." so had everyone prepare and then decided today they needed less men than originally planned. I know most people would think of this as a good thing, but we don't. Besides the mental and financial preparations we made, DH wants to go, it's part of the reason he went back into the Army. He looks at it like "This is the job I've trained for most of my adult life, I want to do it." He's in a unit where most of the guys already have their combat patch, and he wants his. So, what most people would look at as a blessing, we're pretty upset about. Anyway, thanks to everyone who kept us in your thoughts and prayers.
