A meal for a breastfeeding mom?

I have a neighbor who just gave birth and I wanted to bring over a meal. When you were breastfeeding, what could you eat? What sort of meal should I make?
I breastfed (pumped) for a few months and my mind is completely slipping me.

I ate alot of Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, bread, salad. I also ate Chicken casserole's- like Chicken breast and rice with cream of chick soup poured over it.

Any meal is great when you're breastfeeding, but add a bread and salad and you're in business, lol! I couldn't get enough of either when I was nursing :)

I think most foods are fine - as long as they are not *too* spicy or heavily seasoned. Fluids are so important when b/f'ing also, as we all know.

I would pick something that is not likely to cause gas, like broccoli or beans, since that can be passed onto baby. I had to avoid onions and heavily spiced food with all three of my kids or we were all miserable. Those were the only restrictions I had on food when I was bfing.

Ditto Karen. The only thing that bothered me was really spicy food. (Usually I love it!)

I have a really good White Chicken Lasagna recipe that would be sort of different. You could bring along a salad and a loaf of bread.:)
