Any Males In Your Life Ever Have Hernia Surgery?
A relative had this today and I wondered if anyone knew of a man who had this and how his recovery went. He's supposed to spend a week in Disney next week and he just had the surgery today.... Just wondering what to expect for him! He can't drive for five days, I know that much. TIA!
My dad had it once when I was in high school. I remember that he couldn't drive for a while, and I think he was pretty immobile for a couple of days. Sorry I'm not much help! It hurt to cough I remember that.
my Dad went through this a few months ago and he was pretty immobile for a week or so and pretty much stayed home and didn't work. I know that it was painfull for awhile but I think after 2 weeks he went back to work
My brother had this when he was young, 5-7yo. I know that he needed about 4 days off from school and that he really had to take it easy for a few more days. I don't know if I would try to do Disney that soon.
myhubby had his done with his gall bladder suergery and was up and around in four days it was an umbellical cord one but heled fast just had to take it easy no straining and such
My husband had double hernia surgery as a kid. He said your relative is going to have trouble walking around Disney. He was in pain and walking slowly for about 10-12 days. (Of course, this was back in the early 80s, things may be different now)
My Dh had this done in in Nov of 2003 and he was down and had a lot of pain for a couple weeks but was also off work for 2 months. He could have went back after 6 weeks but, it was one week before he would be off for two weeks at christmas and they just decided to give hime the extra time. He had the big "V" surgery the january before this. They also did some repair work on his drain tube hole from his appendix bursting when he was a teen.
