Calling all teachers
My friend is starting her very first teaching job & will be teaching Pre-K. She wants to do a very nice bulletin board to welcome her new students & is looking for ideas.

Oh gosh, there are SO many ideas for this! Off the top of my head... - Fall into PreK!" An apple tree full with apples, each with a student's name. Polaroid/digital pics could be added on the first day of school. - "Zoom into PreK!" A black background with a rocketship and stars, each with a student's name and pic. - I've also done an "ALL ABOUT ME" board starting with pics and information about myself for the first 2 weeks and then alternating students weekly. Give each student's parents 2 weeks notice to collect photos and jot down info they don't mind sharing (cute stories, pets, relatives, etc.). The kids felt special when it was their week and they all loved learning more about their classmates.
Here's a few ideas... Make bees buzzing around a hive. Put each child's name on the bee and title your bulletin board "WELCOME TO ONE HONEY OF A ROOM" Cover your bulletin board with blue paper. On green paper cut out a big frog sitting on a lily pad. Above the frog write, "Look who's jumping into Pre-K!". Make little frog cut outs for all the children in your class. Write each child's name on one and put them around the door or on the bulletin board. The children have a great time finding their name. For a welcome board at the beginning of the school year, make a picture of a big dog (any kind will do) and smaller "pup" pictures of the same dog. The heading for the bulletin board will read "I'll be dog gone look who is in Pre-K!" Then you will write all the students names on doggie bones. Maybe a few ideas to work with
I have done sailboats with the children's photos on them and titled it "Sailing into a new year"..alos crayons with their photos on them and titled it" welcome to a bright new bunch of students"...I have also done the frog one that Kernkate mentions...I just left my job after 13 years of teaching pre- k....she will love it!
Those are all great suggestions!
Thank you all very much for those ideas, they were all really cute. I will forward them to her, I am sure she will appreciate the suggestions. She is so excited to begin her new career!
