Tomorrow is the day!!
Remember how I was plotting to buy tickets to Spam-a-lot on Broadway and surprise my DH with a trip to New York? Well, tomorrow is our 15th anniversary and I'm giving him the tickets. We'll actually head to NY Labor Day weekend. I was going to give him just one day's notice, but my best friend reminded me that the anticipation is part of the gift, so now he has 3 weeks to anticipate NY. Last night at dinner DH was telling us about a funny song from Spam-a-lot that he had heard on NPR. If only he knew.... I have his gift wrapped in a big box with a "big (red) apple" and a medium sized box in it. Then in the medium box there is a can of Spam and a small box. After he unwraps the small box he will see that it is covered in logos and pictures I printed out from TV shows and movies that take place in NY like Seinfeld, Friends, An Affair to Remember, When Harry Met Sally, etc. And finally in that box are the 2 play tickets. I am so excited!!! I've been trying to keep this a secret for over 4 months and the time has arrived.
WOW! I could never keep that a secret!! LOL! How fun! You'll have to tell us how he reacts!! And, BTW, I wrote you an email about a week ago about Connor's speech...did you get it?
Too fun!!!! Let us know how he reacts! Adorable way of wrapping it!
I can't wait to hear what he thought about his big surprise either.
Oh neat! Yes, anticipation is part of the fun of a trip! We had all summer to think about our trip to Niagara Falls, look at pictures, and read about the attractions. My kids and I could look at Niagara stuff for hours!
Wow, you really are good, I am the worst when it comes to gift giving. I want to give it as soon as I buy it! LOL You will have to let us know what his reaction is!
I think this is such a great gift!
Ditto Andi! LOL Happy 15th Anniversary! And be sure to let us all know how he reacts to his wonderful gift!
What a wonderful surprise! It's so exciting! Ame
This is too cool!!! It is so exciting. Happy 15th Anniversary!
Well? Spill it! Did he love it?
How did he react?!
Well, he loved it. He thought it was going to be a fishing trip to Montana so he had no idea. I was especially excited that he didn't freak out about the expense. He's really gotten into photography, so he's very thrilled about the photographic opportunities he will have in addition to the play and everything else. It was great fun!! We ended up not being able to go out because our original babysitter fell through and he tried 6 other people and no one could do it. Oh well! We went out to eat at a new Mexican restaurant as a family and we'll go out by ourselves in the next week or so. Thanks for asking!
I, too, was wondering how it went. I'm glad he like it. You'll have to tell us all (well...maybe not ALL ) of the details when you return.
Have fun on your trip. It will be nice to have a little getaway, with just the 2 of you!
