Itchy Belly....
For the past 2 days, I have the itchy belly associated with pregnancy. With my DD, I used the Gold Bond medication lotion and it really helped, but it's not doing the trick this time. My belly is staying moisturized, but it's still itchy. It's so annoying! Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? (I forgot to ask my Dr. today)
I don't know. I had the itchies bad with Rylee, but I would like to know what other people use too, that way if it happens again, I know what to get.
There's a lotion named Sarna that works so well. You can buy it at WalMart or over-the-counter at most drug stores. I use it for an ear allergy. It's the only thing that works on that or when I had poison ivy.
The Gold Bond lotion really helped when I was pregnant with my DD if it got bad. I also used this stuff called belly/vaginal balm. It sounds weird, but it was the most wonderful stuff! I just can't remember what the exact name of it was. I posted on another board that I go to. If I hear any good advice, I'll let you know! Although, I was reading not to shower too often. I've been taking a shower every night. The humidity is bothering me and it helps me to cool off before bed! Oops.
Thank you, Bea! I'll be sure to check it out!
I remember itchy pregnant belly! Ugh! We used to use Sarna lotion on people in the hospital with itchy skin from kidney failure or liver failure.
hydrocortisone cream! It should work. Also, Benadryl cream helped me. I think the hormones were making me itchy, not dry skin. Hope you feel better. BTW keep drinking lots of water! Ame
When I was pregnant with my boys I used bag balm. They use it for chapped skin on cow udders(also alot of men who work outside use it for thier hands). My doctor told me about it because had a horrable case of the iches. Another good option for bed time is a cold washcloth and stay away form hot water.
I used Balm Bar cocoa butter cream with both of my pregnancies, kept the itchies to a minimum, and kept my skin soft and pliable too.
