Party Favors
I hate this part of giving a party ... GRRR ... Anyhow, they are a necessary evil. I need cute party favor ideas. I've done picture frames and votive holders. What's something cute that will work for a first birthday that's also a christening party? I'd like something useful or very pretty - not something that will end up in someone's yard sale! Ame
Small petit fours with the date or your dk initials? Personalized candy bar wrappers with kids pic and date? I like food items as they will get "used" You could do cute goody bags for the kids and maybe a recipe for the adults...I don't know how many people you have...
The kids loved the bubbles I gave out at Connor's party. You can buy the white ones that are appropriate for a wedding (at any craft store, but we got ours at the dollar store) and they're pretty inexpensive. You wouldn't have known they were for a wedding.
We're having an "event" About 100 adults and 20 or so kids, a cotton candy machine, a clown, face painting and since we have the ballroom of the catering hall, I may hire a DJ. I like the petit fours for the adults. The kids got mugs they could color at my son's party, so little goodie bags would be cute this time around. I just think my family "expects" something more tangible than food as a favor. I would like to do some kind of personalized keepsake, but I just don't know what. ame
Maybe try looking at snapfish.com in their store? You might find something there that you like that you can use a picture with. Or choose a favorite photo of your dd and buy wonderful frames for them....you can usually buy them (smaller ones) bulk from a wedding store or a wedding supply co. online. Good luck!
What about making bookmarks with a nice photo and qoute with the date? I've never been to a first birthday or a Christening and received a favor though. Good luck finding something!
Love the bookmark idea! What a nice keepsake, too!
Bookmark is a great idea!
I really like the bookmark idea too! I bet those would be easy to make and not cost to much. I bet an office supply store could do that for you.
With my family, the bookmark would be a nice add on. I found this, what do you think? http://www.giftdistrict.com/chpuunbashfa1.html Ame BTW - for this party, think "wedding" but on a smaller scale.
Oooh, yeah, bookmark idea. Very cute. And, wow, a chocolate puzzle? Very adorable!!
Cool website- some stuff was outrageuos, but cute! Love the chocolate puzzle- what a fun idea! Sounds like a good party! Are you doing a certain kind of food?
How about bookmarks like this.
You could design them yourself and have Kinkos laminate them
That's beautiful, Bea! Where did you find it? I would need to be able to personalize it. Again, though, that won't be "enough". I'm now thinking about doing a strictly birthday favor and then sending the thank you cards with a magnet photo of Helen in her Christening gown as a keepsake. Heather, we haven't set the menu yet, but there will be a coctail hour, Italian hot and cold antipasto on the tables, a pasta course, a salad course, 3 choices for a main course, plus a kid's meal, cake and pastries. Beer, wine and soda are included, and we're going to run a tab at the bar, which will be cheaper than having an "open" bar, but the same result. There will also be a cotton candy machine for the kids and a clown that tells stories, makes balloon animals and does face painting. It should be a lot of fun! And as I said, we have the ballroom, so there will be lots of room for dancing! Ame
