I'm taking a break for a long while from animals. Of course, after the ones we currently have are no longer with us. It was to my great surprise to have my DH wake me up at 4:45 this morning to let me know that he found our kitten that we've had for barely over a month deceased in our laundry room. We don't even know what it's from but i'm really not feeling like paying a veterinarian to do a necropsy or anything. I just want her to rest in peace. After losing 3 cats in a 1 year period, i'm done. The dogs are hard work lately and driving me up the wall but with DH and I gone all day, I don't blame them. I know i'll end up with plenty of animals again down the line but in the meantime I need a break. I can't handle anymore animal deaths.

Poor kitty. Poor you. I understand. After I lost 4 ferrets in one year while doing rescues, I felt the same. It's emotionally exhausting.
