Treadmill????
I was talking to dh yesterday about wanting to buy one. He thought you would have to pay around $600-800 to get a good one. I am hoping he is way off base. I want one of those that fold up. I know that much. Has anyone bought a used one. I would just be afraid that it would tear up and then have no warranty. Thanks
I paid over $1000 for mine. I wouldn't buy a used one unless you were able to plug it in and try it out first.
I just bought mine (Proform) from Sam's club for $500. It has great reviews and has neat programs (walking a hill, etc) plus the capacity to lock onto computer for a "personal trainer" program. I had a proform I bought for $100 used. It lasted a year. It never worked right (tread slid off to side, computer not accurate). I do not recommend buying used because it could have been abused. My $500 one has a 10 year warranty! Do you have a Sam's club?
I think your dh is right unfortunately, BUT look around your local ads. We bought a used one for $150, new it was $700 and we've had it for 4 years and love it. There's nothing wrong with it at all. Ours is a Lifestyler, originally from Sears. I had a Proform elliptical and never liked it either...maybe Proforms aren't so good??
We bought a Proform 7 yrs ago and it still works great. It is the kind that folds up. You dh is right, I think we paid somewhere between $500.00-700.00 for it and that was a long time ago.
Mine is Proform and it has high ratings! Mine also folds up.
Like Debbie, we bought a Proform about 5 years ago, and we paid between $550 and $700 for it. It also folds up and has wheels on the front so you can move it.
We have a Proform as well and it's been wonderful--no issues what so ever. Just remember to look for the cushioned deck if you want to run.
Ditto Proform and ditto the price. It's worth every penny too.
I bought a used proform from a yard sale, it was a really old model, and the tread part was very narrow, but since I am small, I fit just fine on it, and it lasted over a year until I ended up selling it and buying a sportcraft from Wal Mart, it cost around $325, and I love it! It's just a simple model, doesn't have programs, but it has automatic incline, calorie count, timer, which is all electronic, and it is electric, and it also folds up, we bought it because it was bigger and my husband could also use it (the used one was just too narrow for him). Of course it also counts miles. Just look around, I am sure you could find the right price.
We bought one from wal-mart for about $200. It folds up. We have had it for several years and haven't had any problems with it. It has various speeds and a heart rate monitor and shows how many miles you've gone and so forth.
