Last night of summer vacation
My kids go back to school on Tuesday, making tomorrow night a school night! This summerbreak has flown by. I have my first starting high school!! (yikes) My second staring middle school!!! (yikes, again) My third/fourth entering fourth and third grades. Although sometimes the summer vacation is hectic, I enjoy the non-scheduled times of bedtimes, waking up, afterschool (or should I say "dinnertime") activities/sports, homework, etc. The kids are excited to start back. Now that we have their school supplies and new clothes, they can't wait for Tuesday am. DD's are a bit nervous starting new schools but I'm sure the jitters will disappear once they see all of their friends.
We don't go back til the end of the month, but I will be in a similar boat as you. My oldest will be entering high school and my middle 7th grade, my youngest will be entering 3rd grade. I will, for the first time, be working at my school without any of my kids attending it. Kind of makes me a little sad!
Wow, you start early. When do you get out for summer? My youngest is starting K this year. He is so exciting, but I am a little sad. We start back in 3 more weeks and I am just not ready! I am really enjoying this summer.
I hate the end of summer vacation.. Summer has always been my favorite time of year, even with the heat. Summer represents freedom, no schedules, later bedtimes, going for ice-cream, just because LOL.. it represents nightly walks when the sun goes down, and floating in the pool all afternoon. So although my kids have been fighting during summer vacation, Im always sad to see it end. Here though, they go back the day after Labor day, so we still have about 5 more weeks. Summer vacation goes by way too fast. It did as a kid, and does as an adult.
Annie, we started today and the kids were actually GLAD to go back! I think they are tired of dragging tree limbs, LOL. I have a Junior, a 6th grader and a second grader....one in each school too! I am SO glad the schools are all right next to each other! I am going to have to run a lot this year..... Debbie, the kids here in the panhandle got out for summer at the end of May. We only had a two month summer because we had to make up for all of the school days that weer missed due to Ivan. In Illinois we always went back at the very end of Aug or the beginning of Sept!
Oh, and, last night we all CLEANED! :o) I refused to start school with a crazy house! They couldn't sleep either!
