My poor old dog
Our Golden we jokingly call Jesus' dog because he could have been his pet cause Dutch is that old. We figure he is 12-14, we dont know since we adopted him after his person died. We have a fenced back yard so Dutch wanders in and out with the kids and if someone shuts the door he will bark to be let in. Last night we had a doozy of a thunder storm so I couldnt sleep. At midnight I realized that he wasnt on his bed. So I looked in the boy's rooms thinking that because of the storm he was sleeping in a kids room to protect them. I went over the house twice, still no dog. All this time I am thinking he HAS to be in the house because he would have been barking like crazy to be let in because of the storm. So finally I go outside and whistle, no dog. It is now after midnight, the lightning isnt letting up and the dog is missing. Just as I am about to go out into the storm, (probably not a good idea), he shows up at the door. He looked like he had tried to dig to China. I felt so baaad. I couldnt give him a bath because he is too big for me to lift into a tub and he is too arthritic to hop in himself. The poor old guy is still on his bed sleeping, will give him a nice bath when he wakes up. I will try to post a pic of the poor thing.
Poor baby! What an experience!
Oh, poor thing!!! Looks comfy now, though. Happy bathing later!
