Ugh! I went out to the freezer this morning to get something out for dinner and apparently it has died. Is there a rule of thumb for keeping any of the meat in there?? A couple of things were still cold, but definately too soft for me to refreeze. I have ribs in the oven and a roast in the crock pot right now. But some of the things were still really hard frozen. Maybe just the top 16th of an inch a little soft, but the rest still frozen pretty solid. Safe to keep them you think???

If it's still cold and defrosted, you should be able to cook it and use it. If it's still hard frozen, I'd keep it.

If the meat is still completely frozen, I'd keep it. However, if it had thawed at all, keep that oven running.

I am cooking up a storm!! Dh went and bought a new freezer this morning, but it can't come until Saturday!! I should feed the neighborhood tonight!! LOL I do have a pack of 2 t-bone steaks I am going to give to my neighbor to cook tonight. Their trash day is today, so I ran over the meat and stuff that needs thrown out so that it doesn't stink up my garage. Figured for letting me add to their trash, I could give them some steaks!! Anyone want to bring some side dishes and come over to eat tonight!!

You can cook the meat and then freeze it, just an fyi if it helps. Nothing like going low carb lol

Sure I'll bring the sides and you keep those ribs warm. Ahm your in Ohio so I guess I'll be there in about 12 to 13 hours by car. So these ribs have better be out of this world.

Sorry to hear about your freezer,hope you managed to save some things( food is so expensive to just waste) and that was really wonderful of you giving your neighbors the steaks( wish I was your neighbor).

Hopefully we will have a quick week so that Sat. will hurry up and come so that you can get your new freezer.
