Home Makeover Reveal
The reveal was today and we went. We got there around 9 and they finally brought the family home around 2:10 and we got to yell "Move that bus!!!" at about 2:30. Everything took forever because of all the filming. They brought the limo down the road three times to make sure they got good shots (only once with the family in it). But we got to see Ty again. He came out and ran up and down the road a few times. Michael came out a few times and handed out little American flags (the boys both got one). We could see Ed and Eduardo but they didn't come out by the road. I guess Connie was there, too but I never saw her. So after 6 hours out there (it took 1/2 hour to get out from where we were parked) the boys were both very ready to come home. I told them at least they'll get to say they were there. The house looks amazing from the outside. They've got a great wrap around porch that faces the mountains and the little building is a school house (even painted red with white trim and a bell tower). I can't wait for it to air this fall so we can see the inside. We were right by the fence (they had us on the other side of the road) so we may be on TV. I'll let you know if we see ourselves. I can't say the boys (or I) had fun, but it was a once in a lifetime experience and I am glad we went. I did get some pictures and will try to get them posted soon.
Cool.Let us know when it air`s so we can see you on T.V.!! How exciting! I wish they could come to my house
It's one of those things you'll always remember even if it was just a bunch of waiting around. Can't wait to see the episode and your pictures!
Wish I could have a home makeover....... LOL Let us know when it's on.
Oh cool! I'm sure, after 6 hours, that I would be ready to come home, too!
That will be SO neat!! I miss home, so I hope they show the mountains!!! I had an old student of mine send me some pictures of my old hometown of Niwot (near Boulder)where she was visiting this summer and I was very teary...I can't wait to see that house! What an experience you had too! Were there lots of people?
Waaay cool! We got to see Ty a few years ago at the home show. He was really funny and not as goofy as he used to be on Trading Spaces. This will be a neat family memory for you all.
Ohmygosh, Heidi. There were SOOOOO many people there!!! We were so lucky to be right by the fence and have somewhat of a good view. Pam, the main reason the kids wanted to go, besides saying "Move that bus!" was to see Ty. He was pretty goofy. There was a cop car parked in the driveway of the house and when he came out running up and down the road he climbed in and I'm willing to bet if the keys had been in it he might have tried to take off in it! lol When he was going back up towards the house I got a good look at him and he looked really tired. Those guys work their tails off for this show. He's also skinnier than I thought he'd be. lol We did have a bit of an incident with a couple women standing next to us. One of them thought it was her job to tell Robin what to do when I was already doing it (telling him to not climb the fence). When I told her he was my son, I could handle telling him what to do she got really snotty with me. I finally had to look her right in the eye and say, "Excuse me, but you have NO idea what you're dealing with. Back off." Then the other woman yelled at him for pulling on the fence a little telling him if he pulled that barbed wire into her neck he'd be in a world of hurt. He asked her, "What ya gonna do about it???" {typical Robin response!} She said, "I'll sue you!" Come on!!! Go for it. lol Robin was getting pretty upset with them (they were together and ticking off a lot of people). I finally told him to ignore them and not pay any attention to them because they weren't worth his attention. Then he said, "Yeah, they're not worthy of me!" and all was well. Well, as well as could be with him sometimes. There are pics up on the photo board.
Those women sound like a piece of work. Sheesh!
Oh my gosh Cat,glad you didn`t let them ruin your day. What a couple of dorks.LOL. I have to check out the pictures.
