How annoying!

Two months ago I got a corrections ticket in DH's truck because his windows are tinted in the front. Go figure i'm driving when it happens! Anyways, we we're coming home from Glamis which is in Imperial County (aka- the middle of nowhere). I got the ticket signed in a few days (we have plenty of police officers in the family, lol) and sent it off before ever receiving the courtesy notice. Well a few weeks later I received the notice and realized I was suppose to send a $10 check with it as well. Ooops! I called the county who said when they receive the ticket they automatically send it back to submit a payment with and she gave me an extention.

So, here I sit 2 months later and have yet to receive the ticket. It took me over a week to get ahold of the traffic division down there because they only have 1 phone line. I finally talked to someone this morning. Her response was for me to just wait until I get the ticket in the mail and that I won't need another extention. I don't know if thats sounds right so I documented her name, time and date I spoke with her. She better not mess up my driving record! :( So here I sit and wait for the mystery ticket I sent out 2 months ago.... (Thank God I made a copy. She won't accept a copy but I still have *my* proof if needed!)

So you had someone sign off on the ticket so you didn't have to pay it? Sheesh and I just pay the fine when I've done something wrong.

As far as receiving the ticket back in the mail, be sure and follow up with them. The judge won't care much if you say you called and all. They will only care that it wasn't taken care of and that you were responsible to do it. At least this is how it is in my county.

No, it was a "fix-it ticket". We were suppose to get the tint removed from the front windows and have a police officer sign the back of the ticket verifying that it was done. :) Believe me, i've paid my fair share of tickets at my young age.
