Women of Faith conference
I have been invited to attend this conference when it comes to town and was looking for information. Has anyone gone? What are the topics discussed? What did you get from it? I am undecided and was looking for experiences.
There are women from my church who go every year. I have never done it, but one lady from church keeps bugging me to go. Should just start saving money, so we have it, when it's time to sign up. I can't tell you about it, but the women always seem to enjoy themselves. I have never been away from my family, by myself, for a whole weekend, before! LOL! Part of why I don't go, is that! I suppose it would be fun, having a girls weekend! We have a 7 hour drive, to Minneapolis for it. I can imagine that the hours would fly by, in a car full of women, huh? (yack yack yack!)
I went to the one this year. It is called extraordinary faith. There are 5 ladies that speak, they have a guest speaker or two. All of there talks are centered around faith, why they have it, why they kept it etc. It was wonderful, it was uplifting. I think some years are probably better than others, depending where you are in your walk. It is amazing to be in a room with that many women, all praising God. Some of the speeches were just amazing testamonies. I am in Houston, as guests they also had sandy anderson and mrs. husband (hubbys both died on the columbia). I spoke with Sandy later and she said that for her it was nice to see people with such strong faith and it really helped hold her strong in the midst of her struggles. She did not speak, but was pointed out and I over heard others say the same thing about her (i know her personally). There is some singing, a couple of guest singers (natalie grant was at ours, SHE is amazing!). I will go again next year. I did not stay the night, I drove in both days, it wasn't far from my house. It is set up where they have 2 or 3 speakers then a break, etc. I bought two books and a CD and a shirt.
