What was that???
DH was cleaning out his iguanas cage and pulled out the water dish to change it. He's been working a lot so its been about a month since he's been able to do this so the water was dirty. When he looked at it, he noticed little swimming things in there. They almost look like baby tadpoles but without the big heads. We know they arent tadpoles for obvious reasons but we are quite puzzled on what they are. They have little blackish heads, are about 1/4-1/2 inch long and it almost looks like the body (which looks like a tadpole tail) is a bit transparent. What the heck is it? I'm kinda creeped out. Any ideas?
Mosquito larva? Almost has to be some sort of insect larva since iguanas lay eggs, not little swimmers. Would definetaly completely clean the cage and change the water.
My guess would be mosquito larvae, too.
I just saw Mosquito Larva yesterday on TV, so that would be my guess too.
Wiggletails! That's what we call them here in the south. You have to keep anything that pools water emptied because the mosquitoes will lay their eggs there and they become wiggletails that look just like teeny tiny tadpoles.
Ewwww. Did it look like this, only smaller?
